Description

Forbach is one of the largest forest municipalities in Baden-Württemberg. In addition to hiking and cycling, there are numerous opportunities for sports and active leisure—such as water sports on the Murg River and the Schwarzenbach Reservoir, winter sports at the Herrenwies cross-country skiing center and the ski lifts along the Black Forest High Road (Schwarzwaldhochstraße), or rock climbing at the Eulenfelsen. Situated on the edge of the Black Forest National Park, Forbach serves as an ideal starting point for experiencing nature in one of Germany's most pristine forest landscapes.

At approximately 2 km in length, the Schwarzenbach Reservoir is the largest reservoir in the northern and central Black Forest. Activities such as swimming, boating (with boat rentals available), and fishing are all possible here.
