Description
Freiburg - the sunny metropolis and 'capital' of the Black Forest - is situated in the border region where Germany, France, and Switzerland meet. With a population of over 200,000, including around 30,000 students, the city offers a wealth of cultural attractions, ranging from theaters and concerts to museums and historic buildings. Yet the Black Forest itself is right on the doorstep; a cable car ride up the Schauinsland—Freiburg’s local mountain—takes you straight into the heart of it.
