Description

Zell is situated amidst the heights of the Black Forest and is known as a home to both a textile tradition and the poet Johann Peter Hebel. Zell im Wiesental serves as the hub of the Zell Highlands, located in the Wiese Valley in the southern Black Forest, between Basel and the Feldberg.

The municipality’s network of hiking and cycling trails includes routes to surrounding peaks—such as the Zeller Blauen (1,077 m) and the Hohe Möhr—as well as local themed trails like the Alemannenweg. Visitor attractions include the heated outdoor pool, the Zell wildlife enclosure, and the Wiesental Textile Museum, which documents the region's historic textile industry.
