Description

The municipality of Wieden in the Southern Black Forest is situated in the upper Wiese Valley—nestled between the prominent peaks of Feldberg and Belchen—within a high valley at an elevation of about 800 to 1,300 meters.

Thanks to its location directly on the historic Westweg trail, the village serves as an ideal starting point for extensive hikes and mountain bike tours through the mountainous landscape of the Southern Black Forest. In winter, there is access to the Hohtann cross-country skiing center, while local ski lifts cater to alpine skiing enthusiasts. Historically, mining was a key source of income for Wieden; today, the Finstergrund visitor mine offers insights into this centuries-old trade and takes visitors deep into the historic tunnels.
