Description
The moated castle in Glatt was built in the 15th century and remains surrounded by a moat to this day. It is one of the oldest Renaissance castles and one of the few surviving moated castles in Baden-Württemberg. The castle complex also includes an outer courtyard—or service courtyard—and the castle café is located in one of the corner buildings of this courtyard.
There are four museums located within or immediately adjacent to the castle: the Museum of Nobility, the Castle Museum, the Peasant Museum, and the Schloss Glatt Gallery. In addition, the castle hosts numerous cultural events, including concerts, readings, and open-air theater performances.
