Description
The climatic health resort of Loßburg and its outlying districts are situated on the high plateau of the northern Black Forest at an elevation of 600 to 800 meters. Loßburg is home to the source of the Kinzig River, which flows across the Black Forest from east to west before emptying into the Rhine near Kehl.
A popular destination for families is "Zauberland an der Kinzig" (Magic Land on the Kinzig), a freely accessible nature adventure trail featuring a water playground and other attractions. Hikers can also access the famous Raftsmen’s Trail (Flößerpfad) in the Kinzig Valley here, which offers historical insights into the traditional timber-rafting trade. The 35-meter-high Vogteiturm observation tower in the district of Rodt offers sweeping views of the Black Forest landscape.
