Description

The Mooskopf is situated between the Rench Valley to the north and the Kinzig Valley to the south. The hiking car parks closest to the summit can be reached from these areas. From the car parks, it is a walk of between half an hour and an hour to the summit.

From the observation tower, there is a magnificent panoramic view across the central and northern Black Forest—stretching south to the Feldberg and, in exceptionally clear weather, even to the Swiss Alps—as well as westwards into the Rhine Valley and towards the Vosges Mountains. The Mooskopf is a popular destination (or stopover) for hikers and mountain bikers; the area can be explored via numerous circular trails, and the long-distance Kandel-Höhenweg and Renchtalsteig trails also cross the summit.
