Description
Thanks to its distinctive shape—but above all, its magnificent views—the Brandenkopf is known as the "King of our local mountains."
From the 33-meter-high observation tower, there is a wonderful view of the surrounding Black Forest and the Harmersbach, Kinzig, and Gutach valleys; on a clear day, the view extends as far as the Feldberg.
The Brandenkopf lies just a short distance off the Westweg trail, a detour many hikers take—often to enjoy refreshments on the terrace of the hiking lodge. Those who prefer a more leisurely approach can also drive their car or motorcycle all the way to the summit via the public road.
