Fool's Guild Gatherings and Other Special Events in 2026
- January 31 - February 1, 2026: Regional gathering of the Association of Swabian-Alemannic Fools' Guilds (Verband Schwäbisch-Alemannischer Narrenzünfte) in Furtwangen
The biggest regular events on Carnival weekend
- February 12, 2026: Schmotziger Dunschtig (the Thursday before Fasnacht, also known as Women's Carnival)
- Raising of the Narrenbaum (fools' tree), ceremonial handover of the town hall key and many other events marking the start of the "hot phase" of Carnival in many towns and villages
- 7:00 p.m.: Torchlight procession of the Triberger Teufel in Triberg
- 7:00 p.m.: Hemdglunkerumzug (nightshirt procession) in Furtwangen
- Friday, February 13, 2026
- 6:45 p.m.: Night procession of the Hexenzünfte (witches' guilds) in Donaueschingen, followed by a witches' bonfire and fireworks
- Saturday, February 14, 2026
- 7:30 p.m.: Torchlight procession in Hornberg
- February 15, 2026: Fasnacht Sunday
- 2:00 p.m.: Large Carnival processions in Gengenbach, Haslach, Hausach, Hornberg, Triberg, Waldkirch and Furtwangen
- 2:30 p.m.: Hanselsprung with blessing of pretzels in Schramberg
- 3:00 p.m.: Schuttigumzug in Elzach, 8:00 p.m. torchlight procession

- February 16, 2026: Rosenmontag (Rose Monday)
- 5:30 a.m.: Wohlauf, the traditional historic waking of the fools in Wolfach, followed by a procession at 2:00 p.m.
- 8:00 a.m.: Historic Narrensprung in Rottweil
- 9:00 a.m.: Historic procession of the Narrozunft in Villingen, followed by the Maschgerelauf at 2:15 p.m.
- 1:00 p.m.: Bach-na-Fahrt in Schramberg, followed by a procession through the town center at 2:30 p.m.
- 2:00 p.m.: Large Fasnet procession in Bräunlingen featuring Schauspielfasnet (Carnival performances)
- 2:00 p.m.: Narrensprung in Löffingen, followed by the Walpurgisnacht of the Löffinger Hexen at 7:30 p.m.
- 2:00 p.m.: Large procession in Freiburg
- 7:30 p.m.: Regionachtumzug in Wyhlen
- February 17, 2026: Fasnacht, Fasnacht Tuesday
- 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.: Narrensprung in Rottweil
- 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.: Narrensprung in Oberndorf
- 1:30 p.m.: Large procession organized by the Zuggesellschaft in Villingen
- 2:00 p.m.: Hanselsprung in Hüfingen
- 3:00 p.m.: Schuttigumzug in Elzach
- 5:00 p.m.: Historic Nasenzug in Wolfach
- In the evening, Fasnetsverbrennung (burning of the Carnival effigy) takes place in many towns and villages
- February 21, 2026: Saturday after Fasnacht
- Traditional Scheibenschlagen (disc throwing) in places including Buggingen, Grafenhausen, Todtnau and Ühlingen-Birkendorf
- February 22, 2026: Sunday after Fasnacht
- 1:30 p.m.: Buurefasnet (Farmers' Carnival) with large Narrensprung processions in Sulzburg and Weil am Rhein
- February 23, 2026: Monday after Fasnacht
- 4:00 a.m.: Basel Carnival (Basler Fasnacht) begins with the Morgestraich
