Blumberg is situated on the Baar plateau, near the Swiss border.
The Wutach Valley Railway - also known as the "Sauschwänzlebahn" (Pig's Tail Railway) due to its many loops and hairpin bends—is a major tourist attraction in Blumberg. It runs for 25 km from Blumberg to Weizen, featuring numerous tunnels and viaducts. Trips on historic steam trains are offered.
